CAPTAINS DAY 2010
Faughan Valley Golf club held another successful Captains Day on August 21st with golfers coming from all corners of the Province and Donegal, showing the popularity of our Club Captain Trevor Lewers, and listening in the club house at the end of the days golf, all that took part enjoyed the the day , Totton’s diner at the 13th once again was a welcome pit stop. Later on that evening we all gathered at The white Horse Hotel, for the Captain’s Dinner and Presentation, an then we danced to the early hours of the morning, and looking at the turn out on Sunday Morning maybe some of enjoyed it a wee bit too much. The winner on the day was Stephen Mullan who joined the club last season well done to Stephen. First Stephen mullan(19) 43pts, Second David Heaney(13) 42pts, Third Brian Gallagher(18 41pts, Gross Bernard Kelly(3) 75 gross, Front Nine Aiden O’Connor 22pts, Back nine Ian Dunn 22pts, Nearest the pin Seamus Farren and Longest Drive went to our big hitter Kevin Hunter, First Lady was Eileen Robb(19) 34pts, second Pearl Cowell(30) 33pts, Third Frankie Barnett(29) 31pts, First Junior was Peter Hasson(10) 35pts, Second James Lindsay(04) 34pts, Third David Devine(05) 31pts, Captain’s Guest went to Philip Smyth of Foyle Golf Club. The non qualifiers prize went to Seamus Maloney(20) 40pts, and for the third year the past captain’s prize went to Gregory McGlinchey(08) with 37pts, Lastley the Captain Trevor would like to thank all that took part and all that helped on the day to make it such a success which are to numerous to mention.
